Overview

The Bornean orangutan is a critically-endangered great ape found only on the island of Borneo, spending nearly its entire life moving through the rainforest canopy.

Appearance

It has long reddish-brown hair, exceptionally long arms relative to its body, and in mature males, distinctive wide cheek pads called flanges.
